Sheared

This project was inspired by Peter Eisenman's techniques of design: shear, interference, intersection, and distortion. The process began by abstracting silhouettes of a horse and a teacup, then interpreting form and meaning of the intersection of the two abstracted silhouettes, and then finally deriving new forms and meaning from the original form by acts of layering, shearing, and then deforming.

The superimposition of the abstracted forms explores the juxtaposition of a polygonal form with a circular form that create a void illuminating the interaction between the two. This form was then extruded, sheared, and then cut using the form of the void to reintroduce the circular vs. polygonal interaction.
